Shane English School Japan Begins Trinity Cert TESOL

Shane English School Japan is proud to announce the start of the Trinity CertTESOL teacher training course.

This marks the first time the Trinity CertTESOL has been set up and conducted in Japan and highlights our continued committment to professionalism and teacher development. The CertTESOL is an equivalent qualification to the Cambridge CELTA, is a UK Government-recognised NVQ and is designed to cover all the practical and theoretical aspects of teaching English as a second language.

The CertTESOL, which is run on a part-time basis over six months (allowing participants to continue in full-time employment whilst studying), began in late July with all participants on this inaugural course being SESJ teachers.

Looking to the future, plans are afoot to offer full-time and shorter part-time courses that will be open to non-Shane staff, thus widening the potential trainee base in the Tokyo area.

Congratulations to Training Manager Dave Busby for getting this project off the ground. Keep an eye open for more news on this exciting development.

If you would like to find out more about the course, contact Dave Busby at david.busby@shane.co.jp.
